Rolling Stock

Rolling stock straddle on reinforced concrete beam and rubber tire is used for running gear. Therefore, higher ride quality and steeper gradient is expected than steel rail and steel wheel system. Running wheels are installed under the car body and those wheels are running on the top of the concrete beam. Guide wheels are installed at the lower portion of the car to hold the beam at both side and they will support and guide the vehicle. Traction power is supplied by power rail installed at both side of concrete beam. The proposed rolling stock car consist is configurable depending on the load line and passenger flow requirements.

Railway tracks

The track consists of a single rail or a beam which constitutes a monorail railway. Monorail is used to describe to a beam of the system, of the trains travelling on such a beam or track. The tracks of a large solid beam act as the vehicle’s running surface.

One of the common types of tracks system is the straddle-beam, in which the train straddles a steel or reinforced concrete beam. A rubber-tired carriage contacts the beams on the top and both sides for traction and to stabilize the vehicle.

APG - AUTOMATIC PLATFORM GATE

The terms are often used interchangeably, platform screen doors can refer to both full-height and half-height barriers. Full-height platform screen doors are total barriers between the station floor and ceiling, while the half-height platform screen doors are referred to as platform edge doors or automatic platform gates, as they do not reach the ceiling and thus do not create a total barrier. Platform gates are usually only half of the height of the full-screen doors, and are chest-height sliding doors at the edge of railway platforms to prevent passengers from falling off the platform edge onto the railway tracks. But they sometimes reach the height of the train. Like full-height platform screen doors, these platform gates slide open or close simultaneously with the train doors. The two types of platform screen doors are presently the main types popularly used. They limit the kind of rolling stock that may be used on a line, as train doors must have exactly the same spacing as the platform doors. The doors also pose their own safety risks. The primary risk is that people may be trapped between the platform doors and the train carriage, and be subsequently crushed when the train begins to move.

eQUIPMENTS MAINTENANCE

The contact between monorail vehicles and their guideway rails taking place by means of radial tires, monorail systems and equipment are characteristically low maintenance, high-reliability technology. All load transfer, acceleration, braking, guidance and active suspension systems engage the concrete or steel guideway rails through radial tires of various sizes, in horizontal or vertical running positions. Operating in the refined technology of monorail vehicles, on their smooth and durable rails, most radial tires can be replaced in accordance to the mileage and specifications. Most monorail vehicles are propelled by on-board electrical motors, with power supplied through electrodes attached to the side of all guideway rails. Relatively simple contactors on monorail vehicles transfer power to on-board electric motors and batteries, which operate all aspects of the vehicles and trains. The most advanced monorail designs generate all electricity required for full operation on-board the monorail vehicles. The weight or mass of monorail vehicles is the most consistent and pervasive determinant of stress on their operating systems and component parts. Recent reductions in vehicle weights to roughly a one to one ratio with passenger loads greatly reduce ware and stress on operating systems, with significant reduction in related maintenance and replacement of equipment. The reduction of vehicle weight of other mass transportation rail vehicles has very significant implications for maintenance and durability of vehicles, as well as, the consumption of energy required for their operation.

SERVICES - OVERVIEW

With the experience of being the contractors for Civil and Structure Works coupled with the track works for more than 25 years , MGE is striving to become a ONE STOP CENTRE of the Monorail System through Smart Partnerships where by it is based on a shared, long term vision, both articulated and implicitly understood.

Most importantly the technology transfer is shared between partners. A comprehensive portfolio of services from integrated engineering to manufacturing, services and maintenance and local content capabilities in any country rail project will be offered and provided.
